Welcome to North Beach Inn. Located on beautiful Orcas Island, we offer sixteen rustic, secluded cottages on a pristine sand-and-pebble beach. Our cottages come in a variety of sizes and configurations. Looking for quiet solitude or a unique romantic retreat? Try one of our cozy studio cottages. Need room for a family outing or group of friends? Try out one of our two- or three-bedroom cottages, which sleep up to seven guests. And, if you want to bring your pet along, no problem. All our units are pet friendly!

Our Cottages

All our cottages are fully equipped for housekeeping, with basic kitchen appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker), kitchenware, and linens. Books, puzzles, games and firewood are provided too – all the basics for a relaxing and restoring "unplugged" getaway.

The original lodgings offered were simple tent cabins built on platforms in the orchard under the apple trees and along the beach. In the 1920's the business grew and sleeping cottages began being built; some on former tent platforms.

By 1932 there were 8 total sleeping cottages, a shared bathhouse and the Lodge for dining. As time progressed hot running water, bathrooms, and kitchens were added .

The intention of North Beach Inn was, and has always been, to provide guests with a rustic stay in a pristine place. An opportunity to get back to nature and rough it a little. The lodgings aren't fancy, as the Gibsons like to keep things simple and the lack of TV and Wifi is intentional. We want you to come and relax and take in the beautiful views, the beach, and reconnect with loved ones. To make new memories and relive the old ones. So take the time to slow down and enjoy the simple things.

Explore Orcas Island

North Beach Inn on Orcas Island is located just a couple of miles from the village of Eastsound (the island's main commercial center) where you will find a relatively large, well-stocked grocery store, a number of restaurants, coffee shops, and unique artisan shops. There is also a liquor store and a movie theater. From Eastsound it's only about a 20 minute drive west to the ferry landing or east to Moran State Park.

We had a delightful three night stay at your cabins right by the beach. We saw an otter, seals and lots of ducks just looking out the window during breakfast. As your site makes clear, there is no wifi or TV, but the rustic swtting is just what we wanted.

Had a wonderful time here! The office was nothing but helpful and kind. The beach is beautiful and clean. The house (#14) was clean and beautiful as well with a wonderful view over the coast by the fire pit.

My husband and I went with our whippets in 2018 and had planned another trip in 2020. Covid sidelined those plans. We are again scheduled for later this year 2021. I'm so excited and cannot wait. It is such a peaceful place. No TV, No Phones. So close to the beach. Just so relaxing. The staff is so friendly.
